My friend Joel and I have hunted the American Woodcock for over 35 years and have developed a strong respect for the bird and its habitat. We have learned a lot about them.

We have wanted to hunt the European Woodcock for quite some time to experience it and see how they differ from our own species. After an exhaustive internet search we decided on booking with Nordic Hunting Club to Hunt them and fulfill our dream. We were not looking to shoot a lot of them rather we wanted to shoot a few, look at them, hold them, eat them and see what terrain they inhabited. We told this to David and he understood what we wanted. That is why we booked with him. He is a hunter.

We arrived in Estonia in October and hunted 4 days with one of the guides, Josu and his setters. Everything we were hoping for happened. We shot some woodcock, experienced Estonia and the wonderful hospitality. We cooked some for all of the hunters that were in camp. We learned about the European Woodcock and where they live and migrate to. One of the best parts of this hunt was the quality of the other hunters that were there. We were in the company of experienced committed and serious woodcock hunters from all over Europe. We did not anticipate such a professional group of hunters. We had a great time hunting and a great time sharing our stories with the other hunters in camp after the hunt.
